Webcasting OverviewThe Capitol Connection provides end-to-end webcasting production assistance, whether your event originates as a live presentation or has been prerecorded. For live webcasts, your audience needs only a computer connected to the Internet— preferably by broadband. Prerecorded presentations can be hosted online or mailed out on a CD-ROM or DVD. Podcasts are another way to reach your audience. We can help you prepare and post individual podcasts on your website or work with you to establish a subscription-based service to publish podcasts on a continuing basis. For more information, click here or call a Sales Representative today at (703) 993-3100 to see how we can answer your webcasting production questions.
Can a webcast be audio-only? Audio-only webcasting can be an effective and affordable option. It is a great way to inexpensively distribute presentations or a conference-call recording to individuals who may have missed the original call, for example. What is the difference between a webcast and a podcast? A webcast works on the basis of "streaming media." The webcast begins playing almost instantly without waiting for a long download. Podcasts are typically short, prerecorded audio or video programs that you download to your computer or a portable player such as an iPod or other MP3 device. What software do I need on my computer to view a webcast? Your computer needs to have at least one of the most widely distributed webcast players. The good news is that the basic versions of some or all of the players were preinstalled when you purchased your computer or are available at any time as FREE downloads. See our Webcast Support page to get up and running in just a few minutes.
